Update on Waste removal
A New system for removal of waste has now been started and seems to be working.
The Council has provided a number of bulk refuse sacks which are for compostable waste only ( see the notice by the bags for details of what can be included). Please do not overfill these bags as they have to be manually removed and if they are individually too heavy then we risk the Council removing this service. New Building Now installedWith many thanks for the grant received from Kent Community Foundation and Amity Allotment Fund our new building has now been installed.
In the course of the next couple of weeks we will install the flooring and complete the building and then we will be able to open it up for use by all our allotment community Our thanks also go to everyone who has helped in clearing the site and installing the building Heaviest Courgette Competition ResultsReportNot the best season for growing courgettes, with the weather being so hot. However, we did get a respectable number of entries. The weighing took place on a very pleasant autumn afternoon. The winner was John Lockwood with 3770 gms, second was Keith Hollowaywith a weight of 3070 gms and 3rd place went to Terry Smith with a weight of 2850 gms. The wooden spoon went to Clive with an entry weighing in at a mere 130gms. Must try harder next time Clive.
